Unjoin local AD and Join to Azure AD and Move Data to New User Profile

  • Click on the Start button and then on Settings icon:
  • Click on System:
  • Click on About:

  • Click on “Manage or disconnect from work or school”:

  • Click on Connected to domain:

  • Click on Disconnect and then Yes:

  • Put the local account information and click OK and restart the PC:

  • For joining the AzureAD click on Start and then click on Settings:

  • Now click on Accounts:

  • Now click on Access work or school:

  • Click on Connect:

  • Click on “Join this device to Azure Active directory”:

  • Put the Account detail:

  • Now put the Password:

  • Now click on the Join button to confirm:

  • Click on Done:

  • To add account go to Settings and click on “Accounts”:

  • Click on “Other people”:

  • Now click on “Add someone else to this PC”:

  • Now put the Account details:

  • To switch account click on the Start button and then click on Profile and then Switch Account:

  • Now login to the New Account and for copying the old data click on the Files button on the Taskbar:

  • left click on Local Disk (C:) in File Explorer:

  • Click on Users in Local Disk (C:):

  • Double click on Old profile in Users:

  • Double click on Desktop:

  • Select all the files and then left click and Copy:

  • Now go to the new profile in Users and same as desktop and then Paste files:

  • And do the same (Copy and Paste) for all the other required folders e.g. Documents and Downloads:
