How to Replace an Edge Internal Lync Certificate

Retired product. Microsoft retired Skype for Business Online on July 31, 2021, and support for Skype for Business Server 2015 and 2019 ended on October 14, 2025. Microsoft Teams replaces them. This article is kept for reference. Skype for Business Online retirement
Written April 2018. Microsoft changes these admin screens often, so the screenshots below may not match what you see today. The sequence of steps is usually still correct — if something looks wrong, tell us and we'll update it.
  • Click on the Start button and click on Run and write “Certmgr.msc” and click OK:
  • Navigate to Personal Certificates:
  • Right click on right side and click “All Tasks” then click “Import”:
  • Click Next:
  • Click Browse and select the Certificate:
  • Select 2nd Option and click Next:
  • Now click Finish:
  • Now open the Lync Deployment Wizard and click on “Install or Update Lync Server System”:
  • Click on “Run Again” button in Step 3:
  • Select which Certificate to replace and click “Assign” button:
  • Click on Next button and select the license and then click Finish it will replace Certificate:
