Windows Server 2012R2 Installation and Configuration

Firewall Configuration and Uninstallation

•          add firewall port 139 rule to permit ex server 13 to access by registry
•          remove vistual c++ 2012 redistributable from control panel
•          restart server machine properly

Exchange Server 2013 Installation

insert the full editions of Microsoft Exchange Server 2013 CU1 DVD into the DVD ROM

•          prepare schema
• d:\exchange2013x64>setup.exe /prepareSchema /IAcceptExchangeServerLicenceTerms
•          prepare active directory

Enable and disable services

•          restart services like pop3 and IMAP4
•          open exchange admin center by web browser
•          iisreset

Accessing EMC

•          open OWA by web browser
•          send connector configured in exchange 2013
•          receive connector
•          single user mailbox migrate from    Exch Srv 2010 to Exch Srv 2013

EAC, recipients, migration, +, move to a different database, +,  select mailbox, add it, next, give batch name, browse, choose target database, add, ok, next, on completion email sent to, leave default check mark, automatically start the batch and automatically complete the batch, new, it will start syncing, wait to complete. You can refresh after some interval.

Email verification on completion of migration batch

•         login as admin credential and verify you have received migration batch completed email received.

Accessing OWA

•          Accessible user mailbox by OWA after migrated,
• https://localhost/owa

• https://fqdn/owa
•          Login using migrated user, set language and time zone, verify you have received admin email, you can test by sending and receiving email to other users. Sign out.

Verification of migrated user account from Exchange Server 2010

•          Open EMC, In recipient configuration, select migrated mailbox, properties, In general you can view your mailbox database, It must of database of Exchange Server 2013 instead of Ex 2010

Mailbox Migration

•          Multiple user mailbox migrate from ex server 2010 to exchange server 2013
• Example : as single user migration
•          Admin user mailbox migrate from ex server 2010 to exchange server 2013
• Example : as single user migration
•          Migrate public folder from ex server 2010 to exchange server 2013
•          Accessible user mailbox by owa

Public Folder Migration

first of all you have to download public folder migration script from Microsoft site. After download then paste all 4 scripts into the folder

• create a folder in c drive, past all 4 scripts in below folder and open exchange management shell
• c:\PFScripts
• [PS} C:\Windows\System32>cd PFScripts
• [PS] c:\PFScripts>./Export-PublicFolderStatistics.ps1
• ExportFile: pf-size.csv
• PublicfolderServer: Mailbox.islamabadcricket.club
• [PS] c:\PFScripts>./PublicFoldertoMailboxMapGenerator.ps1
• MailboxSize: 200000000
• ImportFile: pf-size.csv
• ExportFile:pf-mailbox.csv
• Now go to C drive, open folder, and edit by right clicking on pf-mailbox.csv
• Change folder path “\”,”Pf-Mailbox2” and save it

Decommissioning Exchange Server 2010

•          On Ex 2010 open EMS as administrator,
•          Get-mailbox -Archive
•          Get-mailbox -Arbitration
•          Get-mailbox -Database “Mailbox Database 2071663575” -Arbitration | new-MoveRequest -TargetDatabase “2013 db name”

Note :2071663575 is Exchange 2010 database

•          Get-MoveRequest  (to check status)

It will show completed against each.

•          Get-mailbox -Arbitration                              (It will show 4 x systemmailbox residing on ex 2013)
•          Troubleshooting in dbase removing

Uninstallation of Exchange server 2010

•         Uninstall mailbox server role
•         Uninstall client access server role

Accessible user mailbox by OWA 2013
