Creating and Configuring Enterprise Applications in Entra ID with Group SSO
1. Log in to entra.microsoft.com
2. In the left navigation pane, click on Applications and then on Enterprise Applications.
3. Click on New Application
4. Search for the required application or create your own if application not available in app gallery. (I am going to create an application for this how-to).
5. Enter the name of the application and select the option of “Integrate any other application you don't find in the gallery (Non-gallery)”. (I am going to create an application for loom) and then click on create.
6. Click on SSO in the left navigation bar of the application.
7. Select Password-Based SSO Method.
8. Enter in the Sign-on URL (which is the URL of the login page of the web application).And then click on save.
9. If it detects a sign in page on the provided URL, it might automatically pick up the login fields, but usually you have to do it manually. Click on “Configure loom Password Single Sign-on Settings” and then click on Manually detect sign-in fields.
10. When you click on Capture sign-in fields, it would redirect you the login page. (It can also redirect you to the chrome webstore to download an extension needed for SSO)
11. As soon as you start typing in the sign-in fields, the boundaries of the field would turn red indicating that this field has been registered. Just sign in and the page should automatically close.
12.Click on Ok, I was able to sign in and click on ok
13.Click on Advanced to check if the fields are there.
14. Now we need to create a group so that all users present in that group can access the application and its credentials. Click on Groups->All Groups in the left navigation of Entra ID.
15.Click on new group.
16. Enter the group name, leave the group type to Microsoft 365 and select owners and users for this specific group.
17. Once the group is created, head back to the enterprise application that you just created, and click on Users and groups.
18.Click on Add User/Group and add the new group you created in previous steps.
19. Once the group is added, click on the group and then click on update credentials.
20. Add the credentials which are used to sign in to this application, and then click on save.
21. That’s it, now the users in the group would be able to see the application in their apps and they would be able to access that using the pre-defined credentials.
