How to Create a VM in Hyper-V

Written April 2018. Microsoft changes these admin screens often, so the screenshots below may not match what you see today. The sequence of steps is usually still correct — if something looks wrong, tell us and we'll update it.
  • In the Hype-V manager click on the New under Actions at far most right then click Virtual Machine:
  • Click on Next button:
  • Put the Name of VM and click on Next:
  • Select Generation 1 click Next:
  • Put the amount of RAM you want to assign click Next:
  • Select the LAN Connection:
  • Put the Hard Disk details click Next:
  • Click on Install an Operating system from a bootable CD/DVD-ROM then select 2nd option “Image File” click Brows locate you ISO image file then click Next:
  • Now click on Finish it will create VM:
